Pizza for Soldiers

Pizza for Soldiers

Super Bowl weekend had a special taste for U.S. servicemen and women serving in Iraq. Dairy farmers, through their checkoff program, partnered with non-profit organizations, a transportation company and pizzerias to deliver pizza and high-protein athletes’ honey milk for the troops to enjoy during the big game.

Ten-thousand deep dish pizzas and seven-thousand bottles of high protein athletes honey milk were sent to U.S.. troops serving in Iraq -- in time for their Super Bowl celebrations.  National dairy board chair, and California dairy producer, Kimberly Clauss says it’s another example of a strong dairy checkoff partnership.

“America’s Dairy Farmers are proud to partner with Pizzas 4 Patriots, DHL, and Gino’s East of Chicago to provide pizza and high-protein honey milk to our troops over in Iraq because day in and day out our troops are supporting us, and so we want to support them by giving them a great Super Bowl experience.”

The special care packages will serve 30-thousand u.s. military personnel stationed in Iraq. This partnership offers a great opporutnity to have troops try dairy products - that meet their demanding nutritional needs –.
