Keep Our Chins Up

Keep Our Chins Up

It’s the simple things in life that bring cheer to people, especially around the holidays.  Rhode Island Farm Bureau President Bill Stamp, who owns and operates a greenhouse, says his top selling seasonal product, poinsettias, do just that.

I am a person with five children and 20 grandchildren. If you don’t think that’s enjoyable to watch the Christmas cheer you spread around just by having these decorations you sell. When you see people who bring their children in to buy a plant or go out with a smile on their face it’s a wonderful feeling, and in this country the feeling really is an important part of life here.

And a feeling of comfort and tradition is just what the country needs during tough economic times, which contributes to the popularity of poinsettias.

If there’s a little uncomfort out there with the economic environment, they say well we gotta have a little bit of pleasure and hopefully that’s the pleasure they get out of those things and that’s why it’s been doing pretty well.

With 2010 just days away, let’s try to think positive and keep our chins up. That’s America.
