Education & Training On Tap

Education & Training On Tap. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

It is that time of year to think about getting some additional training and Dan Fazio, Director of WSFB Employer Services says they are getting ready for another round of meetings you will want to take part in.

FAZIO: On October 1st we kicked off our training and education division at Farm Bureau, we’re doing lots of training – member oriented, member centered training. We just sent out an advisory to our members telling them about 3 upcoming training programs.

Fazio says the first one is great information regarding the I-9 forms.

FAZIO: The first one is a free webinar on how to fill out an I-9. We go through it with one of the foremost experts in the nation, Brenda Smith who’s an attorney who audits I-9’s to help employers so that they’re not going to be discriminating against people when they are filling out these I-9 forms.

Also the E-Verify topic will be addressed in another program.

FAZIO: Then we have a series of seminars about the new no-match regulation that went into effect on November 6th. The federal government is starting to squeeze employers, they want everyone to use the new E-Verify program – that is not the law, so we’re going to talk about that situation and then we’re going to talk about what you can do about it as an employer.
