Highest residual value award for tractors and combines

Highest residual value award for tractors and combines

Farm and Ranch September 8, 2009 Ever wonder which tractors and combines rank highest in resale value? IRON Solutions, a company that tracks thousands of used model transactions annually has presented the first-ever Highest Residual Value Awards. The company has recognized 2006 models in seven classes of tractors and five classes of combines that have retained the highest resale cash value in the market after three years of service when compared to their original selling price.

Darwin Melnyk is CEO of IRON Solutions.

Melnyk: “This award is overdue for the market and this award we hope will be accepted as a mark of value and quality by the manufacturer and dealer networks that have worked hard to bring these machines to the agricultural industry and the producers.”

John Deere tractors had the best residual value in the compact, utility and large row crop categories, while AGCO brands earned top honors in the medium row crop and trac classes. A New Holland tractor was tops in small row crop and a Case-IH model won in the four-wheel drive category.

For combines, John Deere machines had the highest resale value in the class five, six and seven sizes. New Holland and Lexion harvesters set the standard for bigger combines.

Paul Kindinger, president and chief executive officer of the North American Equipment Dealers Association, says because the awards are based on billions of dollars of actual, unbiased and detailed transactions, the Official Guide Highest Residual Value Award is a seal of excellence that manufacturers, dealers and customers alike can rely on.
