Garrett Lofto...New President of Simplot

 “I grew up on the prairies of Canada and was involved in the Simplot organization from a retail perspective and a wholesale perspective based in Manitoba and also in Saskatchewan, moved to Idaho, the Boise area back in 2001, and have worked in a number of different wholesale positions since that time, most recently as the V.P. of our wholesale sales business, and now transitioning into a new role as President of Agribusiness.”

 Those thoughts coming from c area. The Simplot Company has always been quiet from a media or public relations point of view, and that was a directive from J.R. himself but times are changing.

 (Lofto) “With the way the world is changing, it’s becoming more technological. We have to participate in that so I would say I see our sales get more involved as the evolution of the marketplace changes and we become more of a global marketplace.”

 Lofto is also keenly aware of the stature of agricultural producers on the world stage, in other words, hats off to farmers. “There’s no more important industry in the world than feeding people and that’s what we do and we should be proud of that.”
