Farm and Ranch January 23, 2009 The 2009 Washington State Potato Conference and Trade Show is coming earlier this year. In fact it is next week, January 26th through the 28th at its new location, the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.
Washington State Potato Commission assistant executive director Karen Bonaudi says events begin Monday with the Spanish Language Program.
Bonaudi: "Which is an all day event and people actually get pesticide credits for that. We started this last year. So that is a major benefit for farmers and farm workers. There is still space in there. There is a limit of 50, but if you call the commission office you can still get listed for that session."
The trade show opens at noon Monday.
Bonaudi: "Our major equipment there inside and outside and we are really expecting a lot more traffic this year as people come to check us out in the new site."
Conference general sessions run Tuesday and Wednesday with the keynote address from Paul Dolan Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
Of course don't forget the ladies program at the Desert Wind Winery, which still has some openings.
Bonaudi: "They will have makeovers. Two lucky ladies will get makeovers. Hair, face, clothes, the works."
For the Potato Conference and Trade Show events just five dollars covers it all.
