12/22/08 Young Farmer and Rancher, Swore

Each year Mike and Wendy Swore open their farm to Bannock County school kids. WENDY "This is my farm, I hope you guys have a lot of fun today. Have you had fun so far? In the maze there are going to be questions about agriculture and if you get the question right you can go on and find another question and if you get it wrong you are going to find a dead end." MIKE "Everyone used to come from a farm and everyone is so far removed and said it was a good place to come from. It's nice to have some of these kids that have never been out of the city to come out and what it's like a bit." The Swore kids, all five of them know about life on the farm. The Swores are known at the Pocatello farmers market or at their farm storefront. WENDY "You get to know the people. When you just sell to a warehouse or something it's not near as personable I think. Everyone around here knows where Swore farm is at." MIKE "You just can't beat eating fresh, locally grown.
