New Ag Secretary & Funny Money. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Report.
The Obama Administration has been slowly taking shape with several holes yet to be filled. John Block, former Agriculture Secretary, says there are some thorny issues that the new Secretary will have to deal with.
BLOCK: We've got a lot of other serious issues that farmers face though. We've got the problems with the trade. We've some trade opportunities but if we don't get the trade bills passed we're not going to take advantage of them. And for a lot of the agricultural industry, especially the processors and farmers too we've got serious concerns about immigration and where's that going to go. And maybe that's just the beginning given the fact that the nation and the world seems to be in a recession right now.
If you happen to be travelling near North Bend, Washington where Highway 18 crosses I-90 and you happen to see a little extra green along the road, just keep going. Investigators say a large sum of money found lying on the ground is counterfeit. Troopers are now picking up the money. They're also warning anyone who sees money on the ground in the area not to pick it up and try to spend it. No clue yet as to where is came from.
Now here's today's Washington Grange Report.
