10/22/08 WSU BIOAg symposium to feature state of the state's organic ag

Washington Ag October 22, 2008 The state of organic sgriculture in Washington will be the topic of the keynote presentation at the Washington State University symposium on its biologically intensive and organic agriculture program, or BIOAg. Program Coordinator Lynn Carpenter-Boggs highlights the agenda for the October 28th event. Boggs: "We have a couple of excellent researchers at WSU who have been tracking both the economic and the social changes that are happening along side organic agriculture. So those researchers, David Granatstein and Jessica Goldberger will be presenting some of their research. And we also have at WSU John Reginald who has done several excellent studies on the environmental and soil science side of organic ag. He will be introducing those two speakers." The symposium on October 28th will be held in the Junior Ballroom of the renovated Compton Union Building on WSU's Pullman campus. A poster session featuring over 30 projects on bio-intensive and organic agriculture begins at 10:10 a.m. with keynote presentations beginning shortly after noon. Its all free and open to the public. I'm Bob Hoff.
