08/28/08 Multicultural Farming Roundtable

Washington Ag August 28, 2008 A multicultural farming round table is being held in Hood River, Oregon September 4th. The event is co-hosted by Washington State University, Oregon State University, Heifer International and USDA's Risk Management Agency. Jo Lynne Seufer with the regional RMA office explains the round table. Seufer: "And what that is, is a gathering to make connections among agencies and universities and non-profits, like community based organizations. An example would be Oregon tilth or even our state agencies, the Washington State Department of Agriculture, with farmers of diverse ethnicities, and how we can better make sure our programs, USDA programs and university programs, are reaching all sectors of our communities throughout the agriculture sector." For more information on that September 4th round table at the Best Western Hood River, Oregon call Seufer at 1-800-205-9953. The Washington State Beef Commission is once again the title sponsor of the Cougar Gridiron Classic this Saturday as the Washington State Cougars take on Oklahoma State at Qwest Field in Seattle. Washington beef producers will be serving Cougar Cowboy Beef and Black Bean Chili to fans as they enter the game. I'm Bob Hoff.
