In today's world of opulence and over indulgence there are some things that are still appreciated on a smaller scale; mini-vans, mini-Coopers, mini-skirts, and mini-cattle. Mini what?! Yes, Virginia, there really are mini moos. Coming in at half the size of their big brothers and sisters they are definitely economical when it comes to space and feed. As the cost of feed for livestock skyrockets mini-cattle are starting to catch on across the country. First appearing on the market in the early 1960's, they were originally looked at as primarily a novelty, but today they have came into their own and are considered more than just the family pet. Mini-cattle can provide up to two gallons of milk a day and offer tender petite cuts of beef. They especially appeal to the family that wants to raise their own food but have limited space or experience. One thing that size won't change between mini-cattle and their larger counterparts is the heartache felt by the young guys and gals when the showing is over at the fair and the buyers are waiting in the stalls.
