Washington Ag July 10, 2008 The political action committee of the Washington Farm Bureau, the state's largest general farm organization, has announced additional candidate endorsements in time for the upcoming primary election.
The Farm Bureau PAC had previously announced its endorsement of Dino Rossi for governor and Rob McKenna for State Attorney General. PAC liaison Pat Connor says one more statewide office endorsement has been made.
Connor: "Our members endorsed Commissioner Doug Sutherland for re-election as Commissioner of Public Lands. That's the only addition to our list of statewide endorsements so far."
Additional endorsements have been made in about 30 state legislative races and Connor says they cover more than just rural districts.
Connor: "We have reached to try an educate those suburban and urban legislators to talk to new candidates there where maybe we haven't gotten a good farm vote. So I think our members have done a very good job in the urban and suburban areas of trying educate folks and building some alliances and made a number of endorsements in key swing districts in Puget Sound."
There are also endorsements in numerous local and county races.
