The Slow Food Movement is food the way nature intended, locally and naturally grown, prepared slowly, and enjoyed immensely! Actually, the Slow Food premise is nothing new; Europeans have known practically forever that good food is to be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere and that locally grown, seasonably fresh food makes the most memorable dining experience. Each season brings its own plethora of harvest delights. Remember the wonderful smells coming from Grandma's kitchen as she prepared her right from the tree to the table fruit pies, or the fun of picking strawberries to put in homemade jam, eat one, pick one, eat one, pick one! People are craving something that hasn't been around for a very long time and many local restaurants that are choosing to embrace the Slow Food Movement along with local farmers are helping them rediscover it. As so many people are finding out, good food is still something that can bring people together and restore one's soul.
