Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time.
I just don't waste my time drinking wine that I don't like. But to day I want to dwell on not my new favorite wine but my new favorite wine glass.
You may remember just before the holidays this past year I made some recommendations for things I thought were new and different gifts for the wine lover on your list. I recommended a new an extremely innovative glass made by Tomzi International. It is a glass called Sihouette. The concept being you take a gorgeous crystal glass of the highest quality, not unlike Riedel, and you gently carve out a spot on the rim so that when you tilt the glass to smell and taste the rim does not hit the bridge of your nose. Rather it allows your nose to approach the glass slightly more comfortably. You capture the fragrances more deeply and you are literally in the glass. It may sound strange but it works! It only took me two tries to get the hang of it and now I truly appreciate the thoughtful ingenuity that went into designing the glass. If you go to the website at greatest wine glass dot com you will see how the glasses are produced. It is a complicated and painstaking process. At the website you will also receive a short primer in how to drink from these lovely glasses. As you can imagine they are not inexpensive but if you are serious about wine or know someone who is I say it is worth the investment and who knows it may become your new favorite wine glass too. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at Vine to Wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
