Recently when I was reflecting on the attributes and irritations of the presidential candidates I was staggered by the thought that this is the first time in the history of our nation that the contenders don't have any roots to farming. I wonder what the implications will be. When it comes to protecting the environment though we do have at least in inkling of where the Barack , Hillary and John stand. The League of Conservation Voters (notably liberal) recently released a voting score card that rates the members of the House and Senate each congressional session. In the 2005-2006 session Obama was their favorite voting 96 percent of the time to protect the environment while Clinton was close behind at 89 percent. In the current 110th Congress both candidates numbers have dropped considerably due to missed votes while campaigning. Hillary has a better report card at 73% while Barak has been given a 67 percent rating . It isn't a surprise that the League of Conservation voters flunked poor John McCain stating that he did not vote to protect the environment even once last year. Could it be because he was focused on protecting people? .
