02/25/08 Jackie Chan saddles up for the Olympics

Equestrian Olympic contenders will have more than their own health and safety to worry about at the upcoming games in China, many are extremely anxious about exposing their valuable horses to a host of equine diseases, air quality issues and poor quarantine procedures. I'm Jeff Keane, stayed tuned and I will tell you how China is planning to address these problems and the celebrity they have chosen to promote the equestrian events. Due to poor air quality, equestrian diseases and substandard quarantine conditions China has moved the equestrian venue to Hong Kong and they have chosen Hong Kong native, Jackie Chan to promote it. Here's Susan. Jackie Chan is quite the athletic specimen so I would imagine horseback riding would come easy to the Rush Hour star who is now actively promoting the Olympic equestrian events slated for August 9 to 20th. Guess Jackie just finished a shooting a promo video horseback in full English riding attire. Jeff, Hong Kong has been active on the horse racing circuit for years but is new to other equestrian disciplines so the Hong Kong Jockey Club is forking out over 100 million to upgrade and develop facilities and courses for the cross country, show jumping and dressage events. We have all watched Jackie Chan maneuver in and out of a lot of precarious positions throughout the years, I would think he would be quite handy on a horse& just think of the dismounts& I'm Jeff Keane
