You got to give um credit despite how obnoxious they can be. Like a Jack Russell on steroids PETA doesn't give up and lets all admit & they do get results. Take for instance the McCruelty campaign they launched back in 2000 . Now McDonalds has adopted animal welfare standards that have become industry standards. The Shamway campaign aimed at Safeway is the reason today Safeway is the first Fortune 50 company to prioritize animal welfare. Labeling Burger King, "Murder King" and Wendy's "Wicked Wendys" worked wonders to insure those fast food outlets will now audit pig meat suppliers and adhere to more compassionate guidelines. PETA's pressure on the largest meat producers in both Canada and the US, (that would be Smithfield Foods and Maple Leaf Foods) was responsible for ending the cruel practice of confining pigs to tiny gestation crates. Love them or loath them even fear them PETA has improved life for farm animals.
