USDA's Risk Management Agency reminds Idaho producers interested in purchasing Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) for the 2008 crop year that final sales closing dates are right around the corner. SEUFER "For apples, blueberries, cherries, fresh apricots, freestone peaches, nectarines, grapes and pears, that sales closing date is November 20th." RMA's Jo Lynn Seufer says November 30th is the closing date for the Pasture Rangeland Forage Pilot program in selected Idaho and Oregon counties. Idaho grape growers sought and got crop insurance expansion for five southwestern counties. SEUFER "Ada, Elmore, Owyhee, Payette, and Washington counties Currently insured and uninsured growers must make all of their decisions on crop insurance coverage, especially which crops to insure and which level of coverage to obtain, prior to the sales closing date. Producers should contact a local MPCI agent to learn additional program details. A list of crop insurance agents is available at all USDA Service Centers or at the RMA website, www3.rma.usda.gov/tools/agents/ Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
