02/15/07 Crapo`s GOAL at INL

Idaho has a large role to play in increasing our nation's global competitiveness. So says to Idaho Senator Mike Crapo in announcing his GOAL Initiative and Tour Day at the Idaho National Lab on March 20th. GOAL stands for Global Opportunities for Agriculture at the Laboratory. CRAPO "And we are going to bring in people from all over the spectrum with regard to agriculture and show them what's going on at the lab to help promote a deeper understanding and hopefully to help promote partnerships and opportunities for expansion of and use of the important research that's going on at the lab." As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee Crapo said the GOAL Tour Day will spotlight what the INL offers in terms of energy and agricultural issues such as commodity research, research of biofuels, cellulosic ethanol and other alternative energy ideas, in addition to other initiatives that will increase Idaho's stature regarding global competitiveness. Crapo's GOAL Tour Day at the INL will tie in with other agricultural events in Idaho during March. Idaho Agriculture Week is March 19th through the 23rd and the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce will host an Ag Day forum luncheon on March 20. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
