Judy and Larry Whittier have a ranch in the Lost River area where they raise cows and sheep, and some hay. Judy says it's not a big operation but it requires a lot of their time. The winters are hard at six thousand feet elevation, the mall is two hours away but this Minnesota girl who met her husband at Ricks College in 1969 is very content. WHITTIER "I've always liked ranches. I worked on a couple when I was in high school in Minnesota. But I moved out here and I didn't want to go back there permanently. People thought I wouldn't be able make it out here because is so far away from every place but you learn to make do. It's beautiful here. Every single day you go out you see something different and that's really wonderful." Judy Whittier, Upper Snake River Valley Woman of the Year. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
