$10,000 Grants Target Growing Agritourism
I’ll admit, this story hits a couple of my favorite things: travel, Airbnbs and seeing how agriculture looks somewhere other than home. I’ve done farm stays myself, and apparently, I’m far from the only one interested.
Airbnb and American Farmland Trust are launching a “Farm to Stay” Grant Program, offering farmers and ranchers up to $10,000 to start or expand an agritourism stay or experience.
Google Trends data shows U.S. search interest for “farm stay” has nearly quadrupled over the past decade. Airbnb says farm stay host earnings on its platform have grown nearly 400% since 2018.
Applications open in November, and there are also two free online workshops coming up for anyone interested in agritourism and hosting.

For travelers, it’s a chance to experience agriculture. For farmers and ranchers, it could be another way to diversify income.
