11/03/06 Insurance deadline, calendar dates

There are two crop insurance dates that some Idaho producers need to be aware of. USDA Risk Management Agency's Jo Lynn Seufer says there's a November 20th deadline for the Perennial Crop Program which covers apples, grapes and pears in Idaho. SEUFER "Also we have a brand new program announced by the Secretary of Agriculture on September 28th called Pasture Rangeland Forage Pilot and its sales closing date is November 30th. It's available in 15 counties in Idaho and I know we've had a lot of response and positive feedback." Failure to meet those deadlines means that producers can't sign up again until a year from now. The week after the election will be a busy one for several commodity groups. The United Dairymen of Idaho will be in Boise for their annual meeting November 13th through the 15th. Those are the same days that the Idaho Cattle Association's 93rd Annual Convention and trade show will be held at Sun Valley. United Fresh Potato Growers will meet in Pocatello on the 15th and 16th along with the Southern Idaho Potato Co-op and the Potato Growers of Idaho. The Idaho Water Users Association have the 16th and 17th set aside for their 23rd Annual law and resource seminar in Boise. Today's Idaho Ag News Bill Scott
