From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. With spring upon us and summer fast approaching, you might want to think about dusting off those golf clubs, if you haven’t already, and start thinking about the upcoming tournament put on by the Washington State Tree Fruit Association.

WSTFA president, Jon DeVaney says this annual fundraising event will be here before you know it …

DeVANEY … “Our annual golf tournament will be taking place on Wednesday, August 26th, this year, at the Highlander Golf Course in East Wenatchee.”

DeVaney says industry members are sure to have a lot of fun socializing …

DeVANEY … “But equally important is the amount of money that we raise for a number of industry scholarships recognizing past industry leaders. Most of those scholarships are managed by the Washington Apple Education Foundation. But these scholarships that we are targeting are really to honor some past industry leaders and make sure that they continue to be recognized and those scholarship funds continue to have the dollars they need to do that important work of helping students.”

So, DeVaney says if you’d like to sign up …

DeVANEY … “If you go to our website, www.wstfa.org, under events, you can register there. And you should probably do so early. We’ve sold out the past couple of years, which is great. We don’t overfill the course so that folks can enjoy golfing rather than standing in line, waiting. But it does mean that you should sign up early to make sure that you’re able to play.”

Again, go to www.wstfa.org to get your self registered for the 2026 WSTFA Golf Tournament … at the Highlander Golf Course in East Wenatchee.
