Farmers from south Idaho helped food banks in the north. Today, here's Joe Dobson, Kootenai Shoshone Farm Bureau. Speaker 2: We just had some potatoes, about £40,000 delivered from southern Idaho. We're going to distribute those to about ten different food banks up here and United Gospel Mission and Canopy. Speaker 1: Heidi Benson, PB and J.Haydeners. Speaker 3: We are a local nonprofit here in Kootenai County. We grow a big garden in Hayden, purchase, produce and distribute that produce to many different locations across Kootenai County. In 2025, we distributed 9638 free pounds of produce to 22 locations. Today we are here with Kootenai Shoshone Farm Bureau and we are going to pick up 40 boxes of potatoes. Speaker 1: Charlotte Hooper, director of the ABC food Bank. Speaker 4: We appreciate the potatoes. This is going to feed 200 families. Speaker 3: And each box weighs £50. We are taking them to Head Start so they can distribute it to many different families and who they serve. And we're also taking them up to Spirit Lake Community Center, and they can make meals with them and distribute the potatoes to who they serve. Speaker 4: We do appreciate the potatoes from the Farm Bureau, and we appreciate you bringing them and packing them in and giving them to us. We will give them out. So thank you very much. Speaker 2: With the price of potatoes and everything else, we thought we'd be able to reach out and assist these food banks, which can help the entire county. Speaker 1: Wonderful people.
