Florida Farm-City Week Connects Communities
As America in general sees our population moving further and further away from the everyday life of food production, agricultural industry groups are making it more and more of a priority to bring those realities to them. Such was the case recently in Florida, where the Florida Farm Bureau helped lead the 2025 Farm-City Week.Across Florida, 43 events connected farmers, ranchers, elected officials, consumers and community members to highlight partnerships that deliver a safe and nutritious food supply. Activities included award ceremonies, farm to table meals, farm tours, proclamations, parades and service projects that underscored shared rural and urban contributions.
Farm tours opened working operations to the public with livestock interactions and equipment demonstrations showcasing modern practices. Meals and recognitions in more than 20 counties honored local producers, including six Florida farm families receiving a This Farm CARES designation. Youth education played a key role through agriculture festivals and essay contests for students. Community events at libraries, markets and parades rounded out a week focused on connection and appreciation.
