Talked with State Executive Director for the Farm Service Agency (FSA), Kevin Andrus, who describes some new disaster relief programs. Very tough time for farmers, right? It is tough, and that's why we are here, is to support and ensure that viability and sustainability. It is something that President Trump is very much a proponent for, and is continuing to show his commitment to supporting farmers. A big program that was passed congressionally is, and they are authorized to spend $16 billion for assistance. And SDRP stands for Supplemental Disaster Relief Program. And there's two stages. We had our first stage open a few months ago, and that provided assistance for disaster relief for different commodities, that experience losses that were insured or under the Nap program. But stage two is for the uninsured losses that are more a shallow loss that are uncovered, but can also be a quality loss. So both stages are still open. Farmers can come into their FSA office, see if they qualify, see what applies to them. And it's for the 2023 and 2024 crop years and whatever natural disaster could have occurred within that time frame. Need help? Reach out by phone 208 378 5650. Again 208 378 5650.
