The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has extended the public comment deadline for its Climate Resilience Strategy for California Agriculture to November 21. CDFA describes the draft Strategy as “a comprehensive vision to help California farmers, ranchers, farmworkers, and agricultural communities prepare for and adapt to current and future climate impacts.”

The document outlines proposed actions related to water reliability, soil health, land management, and long-term agricultural productivity as California faces increasing heat, drought, and other climate pressures. The full draft runs about 250 pages, so anyone who would rather not print the entire document can review it online instead.

CDFA is encouraging farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural stakeholders to submit comments to help ensure the final Strategy reflects practical needs and conditions across the state.

A link to the full Strategy and the public comment portal is available at https://pressreleases.cdfa.ca.gov/Home/PressRelease/66460367, where stakeholders can read the document and provide input before the November 21 deadline.
