WSTFA Hort Show Reminder
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson and this is today’s Fruit Grower Report. If you have yet to make your plans to attend the Washington State Tree Fruit Association Annual Meeting and Hort Show in Wenatchee, December 8-9-10 … wait no longer. This year’s Chair of the WSTFA Event is Chelan Fresh Export Sales Manager, Ryan Peebles, who says this year’s list of speakers is a good one …
PEEBLES … “One of the speakers I would like to call out is for the Batjer Address, which is done annually, is Dr. Gregory Lang, out of Michigan State University. He’s done a lot of research on sweet cherries.”
And of course, Peebles says the keynote address …
PEEBLES … “The keynote speaker this year will be Megan McCardle, who is a columnist with the Washington Post and been involved in journalism for many years.”
And the theme for this year’s Annual meeting …
PEEBLES … “You know the theme that we really want to think about is “Perseverance” because for all of us to still be involved in the industry, we had to persevere. But then the next question is, where do we go from here? Hopefully it means we continue to farm and be a part of the industry, but those are questions that we all are asking ourselves and of each other.”
And Peebles says don’t forget the Hort Show …
PEEBLES … “That will be set up at Town Toyota Center and there will be shuttles back and forth and plenty of parking at that location which will allow you to spend as much time as you want down there to experience that and see what’s new and exciting.”
