Trew Rice, from Boundary county is the District 5 Young Farmers and Ranchers Chair and tells us about the Young Farmers and Ranchers program and how being a part of the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation has helped her throughout her Ag journey. My favorite thing about Jfr is bringing more people into AG. I also kind of like informing all the other parts of the state about what we do up here in northern Idaho. Ag is so different from every corner of Idaho. I love that something I've learned is you can't plan too much. Like the weather's going to come in and ruin all your plans or something else is going to happen. So you really just have to be easygoing and take things as they come. And I think that's a really valuable life lesson as a whole that I've learned from being in agriculture and farming, something I enjoy seeing from people when they first start coming into IFR is the sense of community that they feel. That's why I continued on with Yfr. A lot of the times we all get busy in our own little farms, and we forget how important it is to have a good community of people your age interested in the same things you are. So I love seeing when people come into Yfr and they get that sense of community and support from this organization that maybe they haven't felt before. I got involved with Farm Bureau before I could remember. My dad was always taking me to the county meetings every month, and then as I got a little bit older, I started doing high school life and our discussion meets. So it just started when I was little and just never left. So.
