This week the National Farmers Union launched a Week of Action across the country including Washington, DC to tell Congress it must take quick and decisive legislative action to pass a comprehensive farm bill that supports family farmers, ranchers and consumers.

Montana Farmers Union President Walter Schweitzer says a new farm bill is long overdue.

He says Farmers Union members are also addressing anti-competitive issues in agriculture and urging Congress to support legislation that allows producers to fix their new farm equipment by supporting Washington Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s right to repair legislation.

In addition, Farmers Union continues to support a special investigator at USDA to keep meat processors honest and from price gauging both producers and consumers.
