UbiQD, a quantum materials company with a focus on agriculture, has secured its Series B funding to accelerate its expansion as the U.S. leader in quantum dots. Founder Hunter McDaniel says the $20 million dollars will go toward expanding their presence in greenhouses as well as into the solar industry as well.

McDaniel… “ Yeah, so the Series A was really all about the first product. The this greenhouse technology product market fit was there, and so we're scaling growing that and marketing that product some years ago. With the Series B it's about the next couple products. So we have now multiple products in the greenhouse family, but we were starting to take this technology into other markets as well.So this 20 million Series B is all about kind of scaling to the next family of of products and then doubling down really on the greenhouse film line, the UbiGro product line. One notable thing is one, one of the investors in this series B is I believe the largest cherry tomato producer in the world. They have about 3000 acres of greenhouses. it's a Moroccan company, and they supply Europe with essentially all of their cherry tomatoes. So they came in as a strategic investor in the series B.”
