Blueberry Industry Seeks Slate of Leaders
Blueberry growers in the Southeast—this is your chance to get involved! The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council, or USHBC, is now seeking nominees for council positions representing the 2026 to 2028 term.State member and alternate seats are open for growers in Georgia and Florida. To be eligible, you must have produced at least 2,000 pounds of highbush blueberries in the U.S. between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2024.
In Georgia, nominations will be handled by the state’s blueberry commission. If you’re interested in serving, contact them directly.
Florida growers will need to complete a USHBC nomination application and submit it to elections@blueberry.org by April 18. Voting will take place online from April 28 to May 9.
USHBC is also accepting nominations for Importer #2, #3, and #4 member and alternate positions. Those interested must submit their importer applications by April 18 as well.
