**The University of Georgia contributed $8.4 billion to the state’s economy in fiscal year 2024, an increase of $300 million and a record for UGA.

In the past year, UGA conferred more than 11,700 degrees and helped bring more than 60 new products based on its research to market.

**Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins addressed more than 400 USDA staffers, stakeholders and friends and pledged to bring greater efficiency to USDA to ensure it better serves American farmers, ranchers, and the ag community.

Rollins reviewed findings from the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, and welcomes the opportunity to optimize the USDA workforce and stop wasteful spending.

USDA has begun a comprehensive review of contracts, personnel, employee training and DEI programs.
