Renewable Fuels Association, President and CEO, Geoff Cooper discusses the recent emergency waivers issued by President Donald Trump. The RFA welcomed the inclusion of year-round E15 sales in the renewable fuels executive order declaring an energy emergency.

“E15 and renewable fuels were included in that executive order declaring an energy emergency. I think it was encouraging to see that the new Trump administration is already thinking about the role that renewable fuels, like ethanol and E15 specifically, can play in addressing high energy costs and energy security issues. So again, overall, just encourage that they're keeping a close eye on the situation. It was great to hear that the the new Trump team will be prepared to issue emergency waivers come summertime, if if they need to, to allow continued sales of E 15, and obviously that's important to us, because e 15 is a growing market for ethanol, which means it's helping to support demand for corn, but it's also providing consumers a lower cost option at the pump, which, of course, is good for everybody.”
