It’s Thanksgiving week and we’re starting out on the lighter side of the news in today’s agriculture report. Recipes from right here in the Southeast. More specifically, holiday recipes grown in the Sunshine state.

Curated by the Fresh From Florida program and being publicized by Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wildon Simpson, this year’s curation includes Turkey with Florida Citrus Brine, Florida Green Bean Casserole, Florida Sweet Corn and Sausage Stuffing, and Florida Grouper with Citrus Salad.

“Thanksgiving is a time to come together, share a meal, and show gratitude,” said Commissioner Wilton Simpson. He added that, “While shopping for your Thanksgiving feast, I encourage you to pick up an extra item or two to donate to your local food bank. Many families in our state are still recovering from recent storms, and a small act of kindness can make a big difference.”

So what makes a green been casserole a Florida Green Bean Casserole? Check out the recipes yourself at the website below and remember to give that turkey adequate time to thaw.
