09/05/06 It`s all about kids

Nearly three months of summer vacation for most Idaho school age children is now a memory. During the next week we'll introduce you to some Idaho children. Some of them spent time with animals, preparing for county fairs. LAUREN HOOKER "We have a standard of perfection and it basically has over 300 breeds in it." Kids from Idaho and Oregon learned about birds too, but this time along the banks of the Owyhee River. No chicken talk here, it was about Peregrine Falcons. BIRD LADY "Does he have binoculars? Where are they? His eyes." The bus pulls up to a farm near Emmett and for some it's the first look at a farm. As the talk begins inquiring minds kick into gear. CHILDREN "How do you grind it?" And there are the kids who will chase chickens and greased pigs, while others hold on for dear life trying to ride that fast moving ball of wool. They're our future. See what they're doing, what their learning. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
