September exports of US pork can be for hire year over year, according to data released by USDA and compiled by the US Meat Export Federation with pork exports, well positioned to set annual volume and value records in 2024 US SMEF President And CEO Dan Halstrom explains, much of the pork grown in September was driven by Columbia, as well as other international small and medium-sized markets.

“Pork continues to have great momentum. 238,000 tons globally exported in September. That was growth of about 8% and while some of the mainstay markets continue to perform like Mexico. The real bright spot for September was some of the smaller regions, Central America, almost 13,000 tons up 37% that's not new. We've seen these trends in Central America throughout most of the year. Columbia as well. Huge month at 11,000 metric tons up 35% the Oceania region, Australia in particular, performing well. And ASEAN region, with the Philippines almost double the volume from a year ago. So I think really the theme on pork is that the broad based initiative growth globally, but especially in the emerging regions, is really a bright spot.”

With a fourth quarter on track to set a record in terms of both volume and value for US Pork.
