Syngenta Sustainability

From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. Sustainability has been a buzzword in U.S. agriculture for several years.

Val Dolcini (dull-SEE-knee), head of business sustainability and government affairs at Syngenta, wants to encourage those farmers who haven’t taken steps to improve their sustainability to take the plunge. He says there are a lot of benefits to doing so …

DOLCINI … “A good biodiverse landscape is going to be more productive, that will grow healthier, crops, that will use water more efficiently, and that takes advantage of a healthy soil medium. All of those things have to work in collaboration with one another to make sure that we're

bringing the best and the most healthy, productive, and efficient crop to market.”

Dolcini says there are so many opportunities to improve a farm through sustainability work …

DOLCINI … “Some are going to be interested in the environmental aspects of sustainability, others on the economic aspects of sustainability, and still others on ensuring that we're hitting productivity targets to feed a growing world. All of these things, I think, can be met and satisfied through the sustainability priorities that Syngenta has released.”

Dolcini says some are going to be interested in the environmental aspects of sustainability, others on the economic aspects.

Again, that’s Val Dolcini of Syngenta.
