Today is day two of this two-part series on DeLava newl's robotic VMS Solutions Technology. Otherwise being termed as batch milking.VDMS Solutions Manager, Jason French explains that batch milking is when cows go to a robot versus a traditional parlor setting for milking.

"Now, instead of walking to them to the traditional parlor or rotary, we're moving them to a group of robots, which really acts as the parlor."

French says that VMS batch milking allows farmers to maintain a schedule while leveraging robots to consistently harvest milk from cows. Unlike human milkers or during absences, the robot maintains a stable position ensuring a uniform milking process for each cow.

"Typically put a crowd gate in we're putting a gate in that the cows once they enter the holding area, they can exit but now that atmosphere of the holding area has changed. She is now more relaxed. She's in probably a very nice area with fans and and she has a freedom of moving from robot to robot and unlike, you know a rotary or parlor where we do have a crowd gate to move those cows up all of the same time.
