Experts Say Propane Will “Always Have a Place in the Energy Conversation”
Welcome back to our Propane talks this week. Joining us again, Propane Education Research Council’s Michael Newland says the industry continues to invent new ways to use the clean-burning fuel.“It's an opportunity for us to explain how clean the fuel actually is. So we look at the carbon intensity scores of every fuel out there… Propane is, in my opinion, the cleanest commercially available combustion fuel on the planet.”
“We at the Propane Education Research Council are always looking for new companies, new projects that come to market with next generation propane burning piece of equipment. So I think we've got some neat things coming there specifically in agriculture. We've got a really neat project that's being built in California today. We're going to use propane to produce steam that'll be injected into the soil to control seal soil nematodes… it's got a lot of neat applications as it gets to replace some really bad chemistry that we continue to use over and over and over.”
