Poor Crop Conditions In Argentina Boost Wheat Markets

This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Friday. Sideway trading continues in the Corn market while drier crop conditions in Argentina boost Wheat futures. Let’s go to Virginia McGathey with the CME Group to hear more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. closed the day Up 3 ¾, to finish at 5-65 ½. Dec. Corn was Dn 5, to finish the day at 4-70. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. were Dn 1 ½, to settle at 6-41 ½.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Unch - Up 5, ranging from 7-00 to 7-40. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Jan. were Up 5 - Unch, ranging 6-95 to 7-30. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Jan. were Up 2 ¼ - 7 ¼, ranging from 6-92 ¾ to 7-07 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Jan. were Up 1 ¼ - 11 ¼, ranging from 7-99 ¾ - 8-09 ¾.

Live Cattle for Dec. were Up $1.05, closing at 184.67 ½. Jan. Feeder Cattle were Up $4.15, to finish the day at 242.17 ½. Dec. Class III milk was Up $.22, to settle at 17.35.
