Hort Show and Harvest Education Pt 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. With apple harvest well underway and winter fast approaching, it’s not too soon for folks in the tree fruit industry to be thinking about the Washington State Tree Fruit Association’s Annual Meeting and Hort Show.WSTFA President Jon DeVaney says it’s right around the corner, December 4, 5 & 6…
DeVANEY … “Yes, and we will be back in the Tri Cities this year. We rotate, as you know, between Yakima, Wenatchee and Tri Cities for our annual meeting and trade show and three years ago we missed the Tri Cities’ event because we were in the midst of COVID closures.”
DeVaney says they’ve got a great venue so it will be nice to get back there …
DeVANEY … “So, being able to go back to the Tri Cities now and have that venue and be convenient for those growers in the South Columbia Basin is going to be a nice change. And it’s good to see return to normal operations in that sense as well.”
And, DeVaney says it will be a nice time to catch up with our colleagues …
DeVANEY … “It’s not only a great opportunity to hear the fantastic content that our planning committee puts together each year, but also to enjoy some socializing with friends and colleagues in the industry which is a big part of what the value is from in-person meetings and why you don’t get all of that with just a Zoom format.”
Tune in tomorrow for more on end of the year activities in the tree fruit industry.
