Beef Market Takes Hit Prior To End Of Quarter

This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Monday. Despite lower contracts to finish the week, the Beef Market still manages to hold solid at the close of the QT. Let’s go to Oliver Sloup with the CME Group to hear more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. closed the day Dn 37 ¼, to finish at 5-41 ½. Dec. Corn was Dn 11 ½, to finish the day at 4-91 ¾. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. were Dn 21 ¼, to settle at 6-63 ¾.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Dn 20-Unch, ranging from 6-90 to 7-40. Soft White Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Nov. were Dn 30-Unch, ranging from 6-55 to 7-25. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Nov. were Dn 11 ¼ - 21 ¼, settling at 7-03 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Nov. were Dn 22 ¾- 37 ¾, settling at 7-79 ¼.

Live Cattle for Dec. were Dn $2.50, closing at 187.92 ½. Nov. Feeder Cattle were Dn $2.77 ½, to finish the day at 254.90. Nov. Class III milk was Up $.27, to settle at 17.17.
