A lot of people want to know what promotion education is. And here in Idaho, our mission statement is to to bridge the gap between consumers and the farmers and ranchers. Speaker2: There are so many people in our world that do not know where their food comes from or how it even got to their table. And so I think it's so important because without agriculture, they wouldn't even be living. Speaker1: People are so they want to know where their food comes from and the technology is there that they can do it. And so they're out there, they're searching for that information. And us in Farm Bureau and that promotion education, we're here to help our Farm Bureau members and other farmers and ranchers to be able to share that story so that they're the ones sharing the information. So they're coming from the source. Speaker2: Promotion and education were involved in all aspects of agriculture. We're involved with the legislative, with congressmen, with all kinds of things, and we're actually a fun group. Speaker1: I think sometimes we we look around and we're like, Man, maybe our operation isn't necessarily the ideal operation, but really what is an ideal operation? All of our operations are so unique and we have a perspective that can help the consumers or just non farmers that are out there. Most families are 2 to 3 generations removed from the farm and they just don't realize, you know, all that we do to provide food for them. Speaker2: You see more and more people growing gardens. You see more and more people just doing chickens or little things like that. Speaker1: As I've had the opportunity to serve on the American Farm Bureau Promotion Education Committee, I've been able to travel across the country and see the different way that people farm. How I raise alfalfa here in Idaho is a little different than they they raise it in Michigan or how cattle are raised in the Midwest versus here. Speaker2: Most people wouldn't know this, but 96% of our farms are family owned. And so I think that's really important. Families are important. Promotion and education would bring the farms so that they could see it. I would like to see more of our YouTube videos on our family farms and so that they could really see what our family farms are really about. Speaker1: There's so many perspectives out there and everyone is unique.
