Cattle Fight Back
This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Thursday. Despite a rough start the trading day, cattle found momentum and rallied back to finish the day higher once again. Let’s go to Oliver Sloup with the CME Group to find out more.
Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for July closed the day Dn 16, to finish at 6-06 ¼. July Corn was Up 9 ¾, to finish the day at 5-87 ¼. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for July were Dn 29 ¼, to settle at 8-12 ¼.
Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Dn 30 - Unch, ranging from 7-10 to 7-65. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for July were Unch, ranging from 7-05 to 7-40. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Aug. were Dn 26, ranging from 8-82 ¾ to 8-97 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Aug. were Dn 22 ¾, ranging from 8-81 ½ to 8-86 ½.
Live Cattle for Aug. was Up $1.55, closing at 164.12 ½. Aug. Feeder Cattle were Up $1.05, to finish the day at 234.52 ½. June Class III milk was Dn $.18 to settle at 16.37.
