From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. As springtime in the Pacific Northwest hit its stride, the spring festivals are here as well. In fact, this Saturday, Middleton Farms, just east of Pasco, is holding its annual Asparagus Fest and Brews.

Hayley Middleton says it’s a fun, safe activity, sponsored by Gesa Credit Union, for the whole family …

MIDDLETON … “So, we have food. We have great activities for all ages of your family. We have live music and local brews and it’s just really a good time that we can, you know, provide a good spring kickoff event for all of our festivals, and just to kind of kickoff with the warm weather for our area.”

Given the pandemic restrictions in recent years, Middleton says the Asparagus Fest is a great way to kickoff the spring season …

MIDDLETON … “We’re excited. You know, we feel a little less effect I think in this area and even living in a more rural area on the farm than some of those bigger cities. And so, we’re excited that we’ve been able to provide some safe, outdoor family fun through the pandemic, but of course we want everyone to feel safe and get back to

normal so we cannot wait for that as well.”

Middleton says it’s very exciting …

MIDDLETON … “That gives us a great opportunity to continue to use all of our activities and use our farm as a place that people come to make memories.”

The Middleton Farms Asparagus Fest and Brews is this Saturday evening, May 13 from 4 til 9. Go to www.middletonfarms.com for more.

Tune in tomorrow for more on this year’s Asparagus Fest and Brews at Middleton Farms.
