Although we are approaching the end of April, many northern states are still dealing with snow. This has caused a lot of delays in the growing season, but northern growers are hopeful that planting can start around mid-May. Clark Schmidt with BASF says it’s important to not let the lingering winter weather distract you from making your weed management plan.

Schmidt… “Evaluate last season’s weed pressures. What were your biggest weed control challenges? And then talk to your retailer to ensure you’re getting the right solution for your field. I recommend my growers put Beyond Xtra herbicide from BASF in the tank for control of more than 40 grasses and broadleaf weeds.”

Schmidt says that Beyond Xtra herbicide, a post-emergence herbicide that controls and suppresses weeds such as foxtail species, barnyardgrass, and wild buckwheat.

Schmidt… “Growers might be familiar with Raptor and Beyond herbicides from BASF and this new product contains the same chemistry as those herbicides. It’s the first and only imazamox herbicide approved for use in both the Clearfield® Production System and conventional crops. The new Beyond Xtra name reflects the crops that have been merged from Beyond and Raptor’s labels to the Beyond Xtra label and can now deliver the same quality weed control growers have come to expect from these brands.”
