Cattle Market Finishes Q1 With Bang

This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Monday. Cattle finish March with a bang, as the Beef market puts together a string of hot runs. Let’s go to Oliver Sloup with the CME Group to hear more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for May closed the day Unch, to finish at 6-92 ¼. May Corn was Up 11, to finish the day at 6-60 ½. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for May were Up 6 ¼, to settle at 8-77 ¾.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Unch – Dn 15, ranging from 7-77 to 8-05. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for May were Dn 05 - Unch, ranging 7-55 to 7-74. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for May were Up ¼ - 6 ¼, ranging from 10-01 ¾ to 10-42 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for April were Up 16, ranging from 9-80 ¾ to 9-85 ¾.

Live Cattle for June was Up $1.12 ½, closing at 162.12 ½. May Feeder Cattle were Up $.80, to finish the day at 205.25. April Class III milk was Dn $.36, to settle at 19.10.
