Superbowl Chicken Wings Record and Mexico's Proposed Ban on GMO Corn

**The National Chicken Council’s annual Chicken Wing Report projects Americans will eat a record-breaking 1.45 billion chicken wings over Super Bowl weekend.
The figure represents an increase of 2% from last year, the equivalent of 84 million more wings than 2022.
That many wings laid end-to-end would stretch from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia about 62 times.
**The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association policy priorities for 2023 focus on advancing animal disease preparedness and protecting voluntary conservation programs.
NCBA President-Elect Todd Wilkinson says, one of the biggest opportunities is passing the 2023 Farm Bill with continued investment in our national vaccine bank to protect the U.S. cattle herd.
NCBA also wants to protect the cattle industry from regulatory attacks under the Waters of the United States, the Endangered Species Act, emissions reporting, and more.
**Corn growers told Congress they must hold the line over Mexico’s proposed ban on imports of GMO corn.
During a congressional briefing, members of the National Corn Growers Association said if that ban takes effect, it will block most U.S. corn imports into Mexico and be a significant blow to the American economy.
Mexico’s president plans to implement a decree banning biotech corn from coming into Mexico in early 2024.
The vast majority of U.S. corn is biotech.
