Cash Cattle Follow Wholesale Beef

This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Friday. Cash Cattle slightly weaker yesterday following wholesale beef prices. Let’s go to Virginia McGathey with the CME Group to hear more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for March closed the day Up 2 ¾, to finish at 7-42 ¾. March Corn was Up 15, to finish the day at 6-71. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for March were Up 12 ¾, to settle at 8-35.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Dn 20, ranging from 8-20 to 8-75. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for March were Dn 09-36, ranging 8-19 to 8-34. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for March were Up 12 ¾, to settle at 9-55. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for March were Up 13, to settle at 9-92 ¼.

Live Cattle for Feb. were Dn $.40, closing at 160.92 ½. March Feeder Cattle were Dn $.40 to finish the day at 160.92 ½. Feb. Class III milk was Dn $.51, to settle at 18.78.
